Patricia Hofstede is an costume designer and painter based in Amsterdam. Fueled by a love for color, natural textiles and symbolism, she creates stage costumes with a classic yet modern twist emphasizing simplicity, understated elegance and spirituality.
One of the aspects of inspiration for her work involves ancient fields of thought and spiritual practices and to embody a sense of timelessness and inherent beauty.
With several years of fashion industry experience under her belt, Patricia decided in 2016 to refocus on the essence of creating and to step out the commercial field and rhythm of fashion. On a more intimate scale she opened her studio in 2016, nestled in the heart of the Jordaan neighborhood of Amsterdam.
Part boutique part laboratory, this hybrid home-base serves as a backdrop for her design work and her paintings. Further, this physical space has enabled Patricia to open her door to interdisciplinary collaborations in the fields of the arts, music, and theater with internationally renowned directors and performing artists.
